My day in Georgia
Friends,
Yesterday, I had the distinct pleasure of visiting Georgia to support my friend Jon Ossoff, who’s in a tight, must-win race if Democrats are going to regain Senate control.

My day started at a lovely local coffee shop called Mendoza Cafe y Vino, where I enjoyed a cup of café de olla and spoke with Georgia Latinos about the importance of getting out and voting for Democrats – up and down the ballot – who will fight for our communities.
Then, I helped kick off a canvass launch in Duluth. I reminded the volunteers and staff members I met how truly important these final days of the race are. After all, I won a close race of my own in 2022 in a swing state. I know what it takes, and I know Georgia is ready to get it done.

After that, it was off to Newnan, where I met up with Jon and Abigail Spanberger, and we kicked off more get-out-the-vote efforts for this final stretch. It was a real honor to join Jon and talk about some of his accomplishments in the Senate. Did you know I’m actually the one who recruited him to run?
Back in 2020, I was the Chair of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, and I knew it was our year to flip the Senate back to blue. So I came down to Georgia to meet with Jon, and it’s because of him (and Raphael Warnock) that Democrats flipped the Senate that year!
With Jon’s help, we’re going to do it again this year.

Throughout the day, and this campaign season more generally, I’ve continued to meet so many people who are as fired up as I am for this year’s elections – not just to flip the Senate but to elect Democrats up and down the ballot. Together, we are going to hold the Trump administration accountable and end this dark period of MAGA’s chokehold on our country.
But it’s not just that people are struggling with the soaring costs under Trump. It’s not just that people are fed up with the corruption and abuses of power we’ve seen at the highest levels of government.
I’ve also met so many people who are filled with hope. They’re filled with the hope that we can elect leaders who will fight for working families, end senseless wars, lower costs, and build a better future for Georgia, Nevada and our whole country.
One of the Georgians I met at the Mendoza Cafe asked me what we can do to make real change. Here’s what I told him: One, vote – that’s step one. But don’t stop there. Get involved, volunteer, spread the word about the candidates and issues that matter to you. And if you feel like you can make the changes you want to see, then take the jump and run for office to make it happen. That’s how we make change and build a better future for every American.
I believe, in my core, that we can build that future. That’s why I’m out there on the campaign trail and at canvassing events doing everything I can to help Democrats reach voters and win.
Jon is facing a tough race and needs our help. With only a few days left until Election Day, could you split a donation between his campaign and mine? We’re so close, and every dollar we raise makes a difference.
¡La lucha sigue! The fight continues!
With hope and gratitude,
Catherine
